The hotel being built near SoFi Stadium is led by International Entrepreneur Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri, founder of KPC Development Co., according to the Los Angeles Times. Work on the $350 million Kali Hotel has reached a milestone as Rams owner Stan Kroenke pushes ahead with the development of his sprawling Hollywood Park empire in Inglewood.

Kali Pradip Chaudhuri is the man pursuing a visionary project to build a city inside California, which he wants to name “Kalifornia” City — spelled with a K to reflect his name. Beyond his work in the United States, Dr. Chaudhuri has visited his homeland, Bangladesh, more than 39 times in efforts to realize a 142-story skyscraper in Purbachal. Despite his persistence, the project has long been delayed due to bureaucratic constraints in Bangladesh. Still, he has expressed his determination that, if the government grants permission, he wishes to complete this landmark tower before the end of his lifetime.

On September 10, the project’s progress was marked with the Kali Hotel and Rooftop, Autograph Collection, Topping Out Ceremony at Hollywood Park. The event featured distinguished guest speakers including Otto Maly, President of Kroenke Holdings; Mayor James T. Butts of Inglewood; Ryan McGuire, President and Shareholder of Clayco; and Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri, Chairman and Founder of KPC Development. The program was moderated by Ashley Mackey, General Assignment Reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News, highlighting the significance of the development to both the city and the broader community.

The 300-room Kali is the only hotel in Kroenke’s master plan for Hollywood Park, and developers hope it will be a favored place to stay for visiting football and basketball teams, as well as fans who come to see them play. This week, the builders placed the uppermost beam on the 12-story inn set to be completed in September 2026, aligning with major international events scheduled at SoFi Stadium.

Many developers have faced headwinds in recent months as rising tariffs and ongoing labor shortages, partly linked to immigration policy changes, have made it more challenging to keep projects on track. The Los Angeles Times reported that KPC paid tariffs in advance for windows, elevator parts, and other imported construction materials to avoid delays.

Known officially as the Kali Hotel and Rooftop, Autograph Collection, it will join Marriott’s Autograph Collection, which allows owners to customize their hotels while remaining affiliated with the chain. The name of the hotel comes from its developer, Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri, whose KPC Development Co. owns and builds commercial properties in the USA and abroad. It will be the company’s first hotel in the United States.

The hotel itself will rise 13 stories high on Stadium Drive, positioned across a manmade lake from the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium, home to both the Rams and Chargers. Its prime location near the YouTube Theater and the newly opened Intuit Dome makes it especially appealing to sports and entertainment fans. Inside, the property will feature 34 suites ranging from 600 to 1,200 square feet, with oversized elements like 11-foot shower heads designed for professional athletes. Among its amenities are a rooftop bar and restaurant offering panoramic views of SoFi Stadium, the Intuit Dome, and LAX flight paths, three dining venues, a swimming pool, a yoga terrace, a spa, a fitness center, a ballroom, and extensive meeting spaces. A life-size bronze statue of jockey Bill Shoemaker riding the racehorse Swaps, long stored after the racetrack closed, will also be placed at the hotel as a nod to the site’s history. The property is set to welcome global guests for events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympic Games.

He owns and operates more than 5M square feet of commercial buildings, 18,000 acres of land, hospitals, a medical college, a nursing college, a paramedical college, wineries, resorts, yoga centers, IT centers, and biotech enterprises.

The hotel will be operated by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, a Virginia company that manages hotels for their owners. Designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative and built by Clayco, the property marks KPC’s inaugural entry into the U.S. hospitality sector, with more projects already being planned.

Kroenke controls nearly 300 acres surrounding SoFi Stadium on land formerly occupied by the Hollywood Park racetrack. When fully developed, the site will be 3½ times the size of Disneyland, making it the largest urban mixed-use development currently under construction in the western U.S., according to the Los Angeles Times.
